What's changed

A plain-language history of every update to One Thing — what changed and why, written for anyone to read, not just developers.

  1. August 2026

    This changes page

Added this page so anyone can see, in plain language, what's changed and why — including everything built before this page existed.

  2. August 2026

    "Topic journal" wording

Updated some on-screen text to say "topic journal" instead of just "journal," to match the app's new name and focus.

  3. August 2026

    Sign-in emails redesigned

The email you get when signing in now matches the look of the site itself, instead of a plain generic email.

  4. August 2026

    A new look

Redesigned the whole app: one clean bold font, one color, and more breathing room, inspired by a restaurant menu's clean typography.

  5. August 2026

    Moved to its own address

The app now lives at its own web address instead of a temporary one.

  6. August 2026

    Automatic backups

The app's data is now backed up automatically every day, so nothing gets lost if something ever goes wrong.

  7. August 2026

    Export your journals as PDFs

Added a button to download every journal as a nicely formatted PDF, all bundled into a single file.

  8. August 2026

    Multiple topic journals

You're no longer limited to one daily journal. Now you can keep separate journals for separate subjects — a hobby, a project, whatever you're following — and switch between them.

  9. August 6, 2026

    Fixed a sign-in bug

Fixed an issue where some people could get stuck being asked to sign in again and again, and another where signing in on one web address didn't carry over correctly.

  10. August 4, 2026

    One Thing launches

The first version went live: sign in with just your email, no password, write one memorable thing each day, and see your past days laid out as a simple trail.
